absurd names galore!

i don't know quite why this is so entertaining, except that one of my oldest friends either just had a baby or is currently in the process of doing so, and her original name choice - ceridwen (which is pretty, sure, but i'd say not something to saddle a child with) - truly pales in comparison to some of these. like alpachino. or mercedes binns.

k. and i have been adding Ys and apostrophes to our names in weak imitation. mah'yhly? m'olhy? ma'lygh?

it's not a week for a lot of focus, for some reason. it's a week for me trying to shut myself up, for reading ravenously (in one sitting i got halfway through the british thriller at risk - admittedly, i was drinking wine and waiting for J to come home from work, but that's still a long 200 pages), and for waiting for the weekend. ducks basketball tonight, modest mouse tomorrow (though J is playing in portland with one of his bands and i kind of wish i was going to be there), more basketball saturday, and hem on sunday.

i've got to write here more than twice a month if i want to keep any sort of journal other than a log of events. but honestly, at present i've got very little to say. this post? all about the name site. it kept me entertained, literally, for hours.
